Is It DECEMBER???

This weekend was fun.  On Friday the kids got to ride in the city's holiday light parade.  As many pics as I took I still can't figure out how to take a good picture at night.  And add in the fact that I want to focus in on the kids and not the glowing lights in the background.  So any suggestions.....

On the float after the parade.

See...horrible pic but ?????? HOW??? The float was a Treehouse. Madelyn was in the top of the treehouse for the pic.

Is this not an AWESOME Treehouse.  I want it for my backyard!

On that note...Brian enjoyed watching the parade.  Did he get bored half way through and find entertainment with the dirt...yes. But did he take off his jacket five minute into it...yes.  And it left me asking myself again, "Is it December?"

Saturday daddy was back home.  Yay! The kids missed him terribly during his week long trip to Seattle/Houston.  But they love when he comes home cuz it means prizes.  We spent the morning catching up on this and that but in the afternoon Brent washed his car....outside. And Madelyn played Barbies...outside. And Marcus was riding his bike...outside. And it left me pondering again..."Is it December?"

I let Madelyn play with some vintage Barbie things. Okay it's not vintage but it was mine when I was a little girl(it's almost considered antiqued, right....lol). Funny thing is, I'm not quite ready to give up ownership of it yet.  I make her put it all back in the box and I store it WAY up high.

Yeah...I know what you're all thinking! Nice rims.... just kidding!

While both Brent and my family's are enjoying the beautiful snow, we are experiencing sun and warmth.  There are definitely pros and cons to both. I love watching and feeling the peace of the snow falling, but in all my years of living in Idaho I never learned how to drive very well in it. I love playing outside and being at the park until way after dark without jackets, but I miss the snowman out front and the snow angels throughout the yard.

Here is Brian enjoying a bit of both...the nice weather(with his swimsuit) and the cold (winter gloves and hat).  He seems to have figured out how to enjoy both temperatures in one.

Had to have his swimsuit on...had to have his flip flops on...HAD to have the had and gloves. He marches to his own drum and I love it!

  1. So funny that I've had the same feeling about my barbies and my cabbage patch dolls! My mom made clothes for both that I still have and it's hard to part but for some reason the girls love playing with them! Thursday, our school here was cancelled because of COLD weather -23. BRRR! I enjoy the snow - not the cold, but I like the seasons changing. Sorry I can't help you with night pics - I have no idea how to run Dan's fancy camera. Maybe I'll get a new easy small digital camera for, hmmm...perhaps Christmas? We'll have to wait and see! Cute kids!
