PRESCHOOL HALLOWEEN

Today was the start of MULTIPLE Halloween parties. By the time we get through three classroom parties, a Fall Festival, an adult only party, and Trunk or Treating, I will be as Halloweened out as possible! But it will all be fun.

Brian started the fun with his preschool today. He is going as a Power Ranger.

 They had lots of stations set up. First they paraded around the neighborhood in their costumes, then they had "lunch"(at 10:00 in the morning). The stations they had set up were freeze dancing, face painting, pumpkin carving, two projects - a spider cookie and a paper pumpkin, bubble machine, and a donut game.

They ran the bubble machine. The kids loved it...

Oh, and they asked the kids a question at the beginning of each week kind of like this one and then post their answers...This one is "If you had to eat one food for the rest of your life what would it be" and Brian answered "Hot Dogs with ketchup"...totally fitting answer EXCEPT it would be Ranch Dressing, not ketchup.

So he had a great time today. And I was glad I was involved. And by involved I mean standing around taking pictures of my own son. :)

RANDOM...like my life

Life has been so random lately...and I mean just so totally random. I'm not suppose to do too much housework yet, can't exercise(unless its WALKING), and somehow those things have made it such that I wander randomly through my house and wonder what I'm good for. It will pass, I know. But seriously!!!

I did have some fun with the boys the other day. I bought face painting crayons...this was my attempt.

The attempt to REMOVE the "crayon" was a lot more humorous. But eventually after scrubbing, soap, baby wipes, and finally LOTION...it came off. Poor kids's faces were rubbed raw though.

And my kids are suckers for video...anything they can think of in front of a camera. So their latest performances...

RESOURCEFUL....

Little Brian is turning out to be quite the resourceful thing....I've mentioned at least once before that he loves playing with his "guys". After lunch yesterday he re-used his container creatively...

Today he decided he needed some chips after lunch. I had just sat down to eat my lunch and that is when the whining and crying for "more" usually starts.  But today he disappeared...then reappeared with Madelyn's princess chair. He was humming to himself while he set it up in the pantry, picked his chips, and then removed the chair from the pantry. Luckily I had the camera just feet away from me and took pics without him even knowing what I had done.  Through the entire process he hummed a little song to himself. And then proudly handed me the chips to open like it was no big deal. What a cutie!!

And all the while I enjoyed my bowl of cocktail shrimp, sauce, and a yummy drink. La la la la la hmmmm hmmm hmmmm hmmm....

WEEKEND FUN

The kids had Fall Break this week. It's been rather uneventful, but good. Brent, however, surprised the kids and took Friday off to play with them. It was definetly the spotlight of the break. But when Brent is off we GO GO GO....

Started the day off with a bike ride...about 100 feet into it Brian started crying, "I'm tired". We passed an older man walking and he pulled out a quarter to bribe him to stop crying. It worked! He didn't cry the rest of the ride.

Then we took them bowling....

 It was like he'd NEVER had popcorn. He was literally SHOVELING it into his mouth....I had to laugh

Today we hit the final home game for AWC football. The kids love going because they are assured "pop" and some kind of treat. Matadors were up 13-0 when we left. I had to break away because the bathroom option today was a port-a-potty...FORGET THAT!

 The cheerleaders did pretty darn good...but I have to say I am just so overly biased towards USU cheer and dance squads.

Now we'll end the night with a baby sitter and a Fundraiser Dinner...Tomorrow is the Primary program in Sacrament Meeting. Should be a great way to finish off the weekend.

HIND-SITE IS ALWAYS 20-20

Remember my story from yesterday about telling my mom to "pull more through the cap!!!"......I guess sometimes I never learn....

DARK CHOCOLATE...

Madelyn called me Snow White. Marcus said, "you're hair is black."

I began to freak just a tad...

And then I blew it dry...

My golden highlights still kind of came through so it isn't as dark as I thought when it was wet...thank goodness. I think this will be a good change for awhile. But now I'm done. No more for 4-6 weeks. haha!

A SLIGHT CHANGE

So I guess I'm really into "changes" these days....I decided to darken my hair. I bought a Medium Golden Brown and thought it would be WAYYYY to dark. But it turns out I think I want it DARKER!! Ahhhh....

This is the first time I've changed my hair color in about 10 years. The last time I had my mom put highlights in through the cap...to me it didn't look like she had pulled enough hair through so I said "pull more through. It's not enough." She hesitantly did so and...well....I was BLEACHED BLONDE!! Like WHITE! And the process to try to reverse it made me look like I had broken my head open and I was bleeding everywhere...I can honestly say that I know what I would look like with a severe head wound and blood saturated through my hair....yuck..

So here is the new, temporary me. I really think I'm gonna go darker. We'll see! This was fun though!

DON TURNED 30 in SAN DIEGO

"What do you want for your 30th Birthday, Don?"

Yeah, baby!

So Don turned 30 in San Diego...he turned the dreaded 3-0 with his family and us...he turned 30 doing something he loathes - RELAXING! :) But boy, did we have a good time.

• Playing at Balboa Park
• Guy time downtown San Diego for dinner(Ann and I took kids to IKEA for shopping and dinner)
• Birthday breakfast at Denny's
• Enjoyed Seaport Village with yummy birthday cupcakes from Heavenly Cupcakes
• Devoured our food at Cafe Coyote
• Said our sad good-byes

Beach Time at Mission Beach. The kids made sand castles, played in the water, and were buried. The dads played and relaxed, the moms relaxed...oh and got a Henna Tatoo - don't worry, it's TEMPORARY!

 No faking here...we were happy as can be!

Well, that was a fun weekend. Glad we could be a part of Don's 30th birthday. He's accomplished so much in his first 30 years, I wonder what the next 30 will bring. Cheers to you, Donald! :)

POOL PARTY/NOTES FOUND AROUND THE HOUSE

We've had some good times this summer. But believe it or not, the summer is coming to an end. Yeah, it's only October, but hey...it's coming to an end. I had a couple of friends over with their kids a few weeks ago for a final swim party. Nothing major, but we ended up having about 20 kids in the pool. My pool has never housed 20 people at once...but it worked out splendidly(did I just say that? Yes, I did).

Until next summer, sleep well, fine pool....

I found this list on the counter the other day. Madelyn had been writing out her List of Adventures.... I'm excited for her list to expand.

Marcus's Kindergarten teacher had been reading the class Chicka Chicka Boom Boom, which is a book that we own. He was so excited to let her borrow the book because she had to give the other one back to the library. He wrote this note to her...all by himself. And she wrote back...Turns out she used the book for a "project" they were completing on that third day...He was so proud.

The fun with kids never ends-moral of the story...have kids!!!
