PHOENIX

On a whim we took the kids to Phoenix for THE DAY on Friday. Brent was flying out of an airport up there so we dropped him off on Saturday and drove home. But Friday turned out to be a pretty darn good day.

The drive was long, but we stayed at the same Scottsdale Plaza Resort that I had a few weeks ago. And because of a mistake the front desk had made when issuing my room before we were given an upgrade for this stay. Would have been fantastic had we been able to enjoy it for longer but....

FIrst of all...the Wildflower Bread Company...FANTASTIC food!

Then, we spent the first part of the day swimming...

Brian got hurt right off the bat, of course. Apparently "Stop running" means nothing until you fall and hit your head on the hard surface....hmmm, go figure.

After swimming we hit Chipolte for Brent and me and (gag) McDonalds for the kids. Then off to the Dodgers/Diamondbacks game.

The Dodgers are Brent's favorite so it was fun for him....and he was able to convince Marcus to cheer for the Dodgers too. Brian stuck with the "Red Team".
This gives you an idea of how high up we were. But it was still a lot of fun.

After the game we played some night tennis. I think it ended up being the highlight for the kids. They had so much fun and their was a toad, YES, a toad that entertained them for a looooong time too.
The resort had all sorts of animals running around. Toads and.....

BUNNIES...so cute!

Besides having to get up at 5:00am to leave by 5:30 to get Brent to the airport, and then having to drive the three hours home with the kids after a late night, I would say the trip was a success. The kids had fun. And I'm actually hoping to get at least one more weekend in at that Resort before it's not warm enough to swim. It was fun.
