Hilary, I'm so glad you are doing this!! You're awesome for sharing! I've been trying to get motivated myself. I like to blame my fluctuating weight on Lexi. :) However, when it comes down to it, it's me that's in charge of me.
So, I've been making some changes lately myself. I'm so tired of being on a weight and fitness roller coaster and I've been trying to come up with lifestyle changes that I can make that will make a lasting change. Here is what I'm doing (similar to yours by the way):
Exercise five days a week Eat only two small sweets each day like a fun size candy bar or a small cookie or something. (Gotta have my sweets!) Drink 64 oz of water/crystal light each day Don't eat after 8:00 p.m. Be mindful of my posture (When you stand up straight, it can make you look five pounds lighter!)
One more idea regarding exercise: The thought of getting on the treadmill for 30 + minutes is sometimes so daunting to me. I get bored even with headphones or a TV or whatever. So, I've started interval training where I run for five minutes, then do some weight reps, then run, then weights, etc, etc. It keeps the workout way less boring and I still burn as many calories and keep my heart rate up.
I totally agree with keeping your daily exercise entertaining. Another good reason for that is so that your BODY doesn't get used to same-ol' same-ol' - it keeps your body guessing and that's how you continually get results.
It's been 13 days since my first post and I still have stayed away from soda pop. I think the Texas heat/humidity combination has taken away the refreshing-ness of the fizzle. My soda was going flat like in 5-10 minutes and a flat soda is less than desirable.
Madelyn, Marcus, and Brian are the greatest witness of Heavnely Father's love for me.
Madelyn Karen
Madelyn loves math, reading, and crafts. She loves music and putting on "concerts".
Marcus Rigby
Marcus loves school. He loves playing karate, star wars and Power Ranger's. Though it's not his favorite thing to do, he is a fantastic reader. And the testimony on this kid....wow!
Brian Brent
Brian loves his "guys". He plays action figures all day long. His imagination is so creative and he always has a happy comment to say. "You're so pretty mom....you're so nice..."

You can do it!
