Friday came with the arrival of the rest of the family...And today would be the day we celebrate Thanksgiving. Turkey in, ham in, salads made, rolls, desserts, yams...YUM! I superly wanted to try making an apple pie on my own. So I did...it turned out pretty darn good I think.
This pic seems a little out of place, but he wanted his pic taken while mom was taking mine and that's how he chose to pose....sligh little kid!
Pictured is about half of the grandkids...cute bunch
Unfortunately for the bright glare from the window you can't really see all of us(or maybe thats fortunate, I don't know). We had mom, dad, grandma Hill, Jackie, Jeff, Thayne, Angel, Micah, Brent, me, and a new Friend, Melissa for dinner.
Desserts...need I say more! YUUUUUUMMM! Jackie made a chocolate Truffle that was to die for, and Dirt for the kids. Although I probably ate just as much dirt as the kids. That's funny to admit at my age...that I ate dirt. Haha.
After dinner the kids prepared a talent show for the adults. All songs were courtesy of Selena Gomez's new album. Even the "spanish" song. It was very entertaining. Not only the kids, but some of the adults were REALLY getting into it as well...
dancing...
smiles....
splits...
push-ups...who's talent show was this.... haha
The evening started the real competition. The men put together their gingerbread houses. Mom and Angel made all the gingerbread. I was lazy and bought Brent a kit(a Halloween kit) so he had the smallest house on the block. But any realtor would agree that it's never wise to have the biggest, nicest house on the block....While they worked on theirs, the ladies went over to the lodge and put together the graham crackers houses for the kids and the kids watched a movie.
Dad had his roof attached with twine, Jeff's roof was oozing orange, Thayne was obviously copying Brent's masterpiece(evidence from the picture), and Micah couldn't keep his hands out of the licorice...overall they were productive in their own ways..
Micah was in charge of Saturday morning breakfast for obvious reasons...he cooks the BEST breakfast. French toast, sausage, eggs, and blueberry muffins. HUUUUULLLO!
And the breakfast marked the start of the Annual Rigby Christmas Party...
