NEXT TIME YOU BITE INTO YOUR CRISP LETTUCE

It's harvest time in a lot of the fields right now. And it will continue through the next few months. I couldn't help but take a picture of the BACK-BREAKING work the field workers do so that we can enjoy a crisp salad, a BLT,  feed our pets, or whatever you do with your iceberg, spring mix, romaine, etc...

So next time you pick up that lettuce...remember it was harvested the old fashion way - hunched over, by hand,  with a machete(I added that for a good visual).
